The weather here can't decide what it wants to be when it grows up. One day it's hot out, the next it's cold. Fall is definitely upon us; has been for some time now, at least here in the Midwest.

I found a great looking shrug on the Lion Brand website that I wanted to try. I am about 95% done with it. I am adding some extra rows to each side so that the sleeves will be a little longer.

It is a super easy project though, and I feel that a beginner could even handle this. If you can make a single crochet stitch, you can do this! It is a longer project because you're basically making a large rectangle.

Here is the link to the pattern I used: Simple Shrug. Lion Brand's site has the same pattern under a couple of headings, made out of different types and colors of yarn, but the pattern is basically the same.

I used two colors for mine, alternating every 13 rows until it was the right size.

Herb Garden by Lion Brand Homespun

Wild Fire by Lion Brand Homespun

It's coming out beautifully. I am hoping to finish it soon, so I can start wearing it! Pictures will be posted as soon as I have the finished product.

(all images/patterns copy righted by Lion Brand Yarns)

comments
